I have chosen this hotel for its renowned friendly service and excellent food, and the fact that so many guests come back year after year. Well designed, the hotel features a main central building as its focal point, including the reception, restaurants and bar, where musical entertainment is on offer every evening.

The well established, comfortable accommodation buildings are set in a charming wooded area near the cross-country ski trails, within an easy 2-3 minute walk of the main Tunturi building.

There is a super range of family rooms and suites available in different shapes and sizes, as follows, and larger apartments with 3 and 5 bedrooms are available on request. Most room types have a private sauna, and whilst all the bedrooms are comfortable, the Family Suites offer that extra bit of space if you want to spread out.

• The hotel’s impressive new ‘Gielas’ wing, opened in November 2008, provides the highest standards in Saariselkä, and is just 2-3 minutes walk from the main Tunturi building. The Gielas offers spacious and stylish family rooms, plus a small range of boutiques.
