- Family snowmobiling in Lapland is a magical adventure for everyone. Our Saariselkä snowmobile tours follow wide, well-looked-after local tracks, the same routes many Laplanders use to get around in winter. It’s a fun way to explore Lapland and see how the locals travel through the snow.
- It’s a smooth and safe ride for families. Kids travel in a sleigh led by your guide’s snowmobile at the front of the group, so they can sit back and enjoy the views. Grown‑ups can drive, ride pillion or hop into the sleigh too.
Santa's Magic - duration and pricing
Family snowmobile safari - The duration of the experience is 1-1.5 hours (45 minute ride time). Adults single driver from £142. Adults sharing from £86. Child from £66.
Santa's Aurora - duration and pricing
The duration of the experience is 2 hours (1.5 hour ride time). Adults single driver from £145. Adults sharing from £105. Child from £75.
Snowmobile safety
- If a grown-up wants to drive, you need to be over 18 and have a full photographic driving license. You'll get a helmet too.
- The dedicated trails are like roads, with 'give way' signs to look out for. And just like roads, you can't have had any alcohol before heading out.
- There's room for one passenger per snowmobile. You need to be able to reach the footrests and be strong enough to hold on properly around the driver's waist or hand grips. There isn't a specific age to ride pillion however it is at the guides discretion as to whether you are allowed to ride as a passenger.
- To drive your own snowmobile without a passenger, you'll need to book a single driver supplement. And if a grown-up wants to go in the sleigh, you'll need to let us know in advance and its subject to availability.
- Our guide will make sure everyone's safe and following the rules before you set off.

Seeing Lapland in the snow is all part of the experience, so if we decide that there’s not enough snow, you can change your travel dates, within the same season, or get a full refund.
