Sleigh all day with these fun games to play in the snow
Let the Lapland magic begin with snowy adventures your whole family will love.
When you arrive in Saariselkä, you’ll see snow as far as the eye can see: soft, crunchy, powdery snow. The kind many families have never experienced before. It’s all part of what makes a trip to Santa’s Lapland so special.

And thanks to our Snow Guarantee, the fun is always waiting. If there’s not enough snow, we’ll help you change your travel dates or offer a full refund.*
But don’t worry, snow arrives early and stays late here, covering the forests and fells from November through March.
So zip up your boots, fasten your thermal suits and step outside. It’s time to play!
Build a snowman
No snowy day is complete without rolling up snowballs and creating frosty friends. Will yours wear a borrowed scarf, gloves or maybe even Santa’s hat?
Tobogganing time
Sliding down snowy hills never gets old. Tobogganing is a Saariselkä favourite and you’ll find sleds and gentle slopes right outside your hotel. The best part? You can whizz down again and again. And again.

Snowball fights
It only takes one snowball before the battle begins! Keep it light, keep it fun, and just don’t be surprised if the kids team up on you.

Crazy reindeer golf
Only in Santa’s Lapland can you play golf in the snow. Putt your way around snowy obstacles, through fluffy powder, and maybe dodge a cheeky elf along the way.
Make snow angels
Simple. Sweet. Magical. Lie back, sweep your arms and legs, and create your very own snow angels. Don’t forget to snap a photo before the next snowfall covers them up.

Snow hockey showdown
Grab a stick, gather your team, and let the snowy fun begin! Snow hockey is fast, friendly, and full of laughter.
It’s the perfect game for families who like a little competition. Everyone can join in (no skates needed), and it’s one of our favourite Santa’s Lapland activities.
Best of all? After the final goal is scored, you can celebrate together with biscuits and mugs of hot berry juice.
Kick-sledding and mini skidoos
Fancy something a little different? Kick-sledding (a Finnish mix of sled and scooter) is a local favourite.
Kids can also try out mini skidoos, designed for safe, snowy thrills they’ll never forget.

The magic never melts
Snow games are just the beginning. After the last snowball has been thrown and the final sled run slid, head indoors for cosy jumper and, warm drinks.
Santa’s Lapland gives you more than snow. It gives you time together. Laughter you’ll never forget. And a little sprinkle of magic that lasts long after your snowy footprints fade.
More Lapland inspiration
No one knows how to make Christmas more magical
Flights, transfers, half-board accommodation, a fun-filled activity trip and snowsuits are all included.
Seeing Lapland in the snow is all part of the experience, so if we decide that there’s not enough snow, you can change your travel dates, within the same season, or get a full refund.
A remote spot in the far north of Finland, 200km above the Arctic Circle. Saariselkä has around 200 days a year with snow, which often starts falling in October.
