A little extra magic sprinkled on top. Woosh around on a snowmobile safari and 'mush' your huskies on an extended sled ride. Travel by reindeer and follow the magical glow trail to find Santa and his special Aurora Elf. You’ll dine at a Wilderness Dinner and sleep under the Northern Lights
Our Santa’s Aurora package is available to book for 2 or 3 nights. Below is a sample itinerary of what you can expect on our magical 2 night Lapland holiday.
Day 1Your first glimpse of LaplandYou'll fly into the heart of Lapland, then it's a short coach ride to Saariselkä. It's 200km above the Arctic Circle so it'll feel like you're on another planet.
A warm welcome
As you arrive you’ll fill up on an afternoon tea, plus we'll make sure you're all suited and booted in our complimentary thermal snowsuits. You’ll feel cosy and warm wherever you explore, now it’s time for an adventure.
Wilderness dinner
In the evening, sit down for your wilderness dinner in a traditional Lappish kota (like a teepee), eating a festive feast next to a crackling open fire.
Reindeer ride
Then, meet your local Sami guide and friendly reindeer for a wonderful sleigh ride through the other-worldly forests of Lapland - you’ve never seen scenery quite like this. Keep warm, cuddled together under the blankets.
Day 2The search for SantaIt’s time. Follow the elves and travel the same way they do - by husky and reindeer. Can you follow Santa's magical glow trail that he leaves behind wherever he goes to his secret cabin?
Extra long husky ride
'Mush! Mush!'... is how you’ll be commanding the huskies on your extended sled ride, swooshing through the snow in style. A grown-up will drive while the kids cosy up in the sled, and the huskies race you off into the magical forest.
Local Sami stories in a warm Kota
A Kota is like a Lappish teepee, and it’s just as fun as it sounds. The perfect place to warm up, eat pancakes, drink hot berry juice and be captivated with stories from a local Sami guide.
Snow and ice activities
It’s not a proper Christmas without playing in the crunchy soft snow. Try kick-sledding, snow-hockey, skidoo rides and more tobogganing. The best bit? Have as many goes as you like.
Follow the glow to find Santa
Take your very own reindeer sleigh through the snowy forest. Santa leaves a magical glow trail behind, can you see it? Not far now. When you meet Santa's Aurora Elf you’re nearly there - they are the only one who speaks English instead of Elvish. Then, it’s time. You’ve made it for your private meeting. Santa’s secret cabin… is he in?
Time to relax
Head back to Saariselkä, it’s time for dinner in your hotel to reminisce and share stories. The rest of the evening is yours for snowy adventures - go tobogganing, explore the villages shops in Saariselkä or book another activity. Keep an eye out for the greatest natural show on earth - the Northern Lights - from the comfort of your room.
Day 3There's still time for a little more magicTake the chance to explore the snowy, enchanting scenery.
Snowmobile rides
Hop on a thrilling snowmobile through the wintry forests with your family. The grown-ups get to bring out their inner child by having a go at driving, while the kids sit back to take it all in. Don’t forget your driving licence!
Traditional Lappish shops
Wander round the village’s shops to see all the hand-made Lappish gifts, clothes, toys and Christmas trinkets. Take a memory home with you.
Home sweet home
Then it's time to soak up one last look - you might think it was all a dream tomorrow. Say your goodbyes to this magical land, and take a short coach ride back to the airport.
